Mclaren decides that this year’s car is more important

This weekPirelli’s Tyre testing programme got underway with Ferrari and Red Bull but Mclaren was notably absent. While getting a sneak peek at next year’s wider tire spec may seem like an offer too good to refuse, Mclaren’s Eric Bouiller would rather focus on the matter at hand.

“In the end you have to balance the costs and the distraction for your resources… Where we are now obviously, we believe it was better not to get distracted by doing a new car and  testing” – Eric Bouiller
